“I started painting in 2013 when I found myself an empty nester and in need of a hobby. Little did I know that I would actually find my true passion. I have been painting in abundance ever since.”
Where do you find inspiration?
“My inspiration can come from anywhere – especially with watercolor – it’s almost more about color than anything else. I’m never really sure where a painting is headed or how it will turn out, and that is a big part of the fun!”
What is special about the materials or tools you use in your work?
“My favorite “tool” these days is YouTube. I’m obsessed with painting tutorials. Not only do I learn a lot, I also get inspired to try new techniques. Sometimes they work, and sometimes not so much!”
What do you like most about our region?
“I love Tacoma – especially the Proctor area. I’ve lived here since 1983 and don’t really want to live anywhere else. One of my favorite things, besides our summers, is that people are always out and about – walking dogs, working in their yards, or just wandering around the local area. We have everything we need – coffee, food, wine, shopping, bowling, movie theater, and of course Proctor Art Gallery! It’s all right here!”
